Caracas Amor a Muerte

In “Caracas Amor a Muerte” my job was to edit the trailer. It’s been more than 10 years since Gustavo Balza, director and co-writer, invited me to the premiere of the feature film at Sambil (in 1999) and I really liked what was achieved in that film at the audio level (Music: Alonso Toro y Sonido: Stefano Gramitto) and in many scenes he had a very good cinematography (Alejandro Wiedemann) at the same time as an elegant editorial proposal (Alberto Gómez). Not to mention that very talented actors worked (like the great friend Luke Grande, worth the redundancy hehehe).

In fact, it was the first time I made a movie trailer. I had the concern to explore in this type of format and especially with a film that had a lot of dramatic accents that allowed me to play in making a very dynamic piece and, of course, that could sell the movie.

I remember that at that time Gustavo was very pressured by the time issue and to try that his bet with “Caracas Amor a Muerte” could work. We gave several versions with versions until we got what we wanted.

Gustavo moved to Spain and I do not have much contact with him but I remember him as an excellent artist and persevering professional. I hope where he is doing well.
