Hace pocos días participé en un videoclip para la banda Filter. Quizá habrá más de uno(a) que está leyendo que no tiene idea de quiénes son ellos, (ni yo cuando me dijeron para trabajar en esto). Pero ellos tuvieron bastante éxito en los noventas, sobretodo en Estados Unidos. Si hacen un pequeño research de la banda en itunes, se darán cuenta que habrá una que otra canción que dirán: “ah claro que los he escuchado!” “Take a Picture” puede ser el tema más famoso de ellos.

El hecho es que la banda está de regreso con disco nuevo, single nuevo y por supuesto music video nuevo: “THE INEVITABLE RELAPSE” es el nombre de la canción y tiene mucha fuerza al estilo de Nine Inch Nails (mentores de esta banda).
Quién dirigió este video musical fue el venezolano y gran amigo Jesús Rodríguez, quien con su talento quiso, de alguna forma, resucitar el feeling para quienes vivimos y disfrutamos la música de los noventas: reflejo en el papel de espejo (estilo Mysterious Ways de U2), cortes con ese efecto de loop hecho por dos frames que pareciera un error (usado por Oasis, Madonna en varios de esos videos de la época) entre otras cosas.
Se trabajó como operación comando: en menos de una semana se hizo la pre, producción y post. Para Richard Patrick, líder de Filter, confesó que aunque recuerda haber trabajado en videos muchos más ambiciosos y con presupuestos altísimos, nunca había estado tan emocionado con el lanzamiento de este tema. La exclusividad de la premiere lo tiene ahora Yahoo! Music.
“The Inevitable Relapse” desarrolla una temática planteada con violencia pero quiere plasmar un problema íntimo de una persona atrapada en la adicción.
Para mi, sin duda fue una experiencia excelente de trabajar junto con Jesús y contribuir en el retorno de una banda que tiene muchísimo talento. Espero lo disfruten y que el éxito se repita inevitablemente para todos!!! 😀

A few days ago I participated in a music video for the band Filter. Perhaps some readers have no idea who they are (like me at the moment when told me about the work) But they were quite successful in the nineties, especially in the United States. If you do a little research in itunes, probably you’ll realize: “Oh course I have heard them!” “Take a Picture“may be the most famous song of them.
Well, the fact is that, the band is back with new album, new single and of course new music video: “THE INEVITABLE RELAPSE” is the name of the song and is very strong like Nine Inch Nails (mentors of this band).
Who directed this music video was a Venezuelan and my good friend Jesus Rodriguez, who with his talent revive the feeling for those who live and enjoy the music of the nineties: the role of reflection in the mirror (style of U2 Mysterious Ways ), cuts with a mini-loop effects made it by repetitions of two frames… look like an error but is cool at the same time (used by Oasis, Madonna in several of those videos of the time) among others.
It worked as a “commando operation”: in less than a week became the pre, production and post. To Richard Patrick, Filter leader, confessed that although he remembers having worked in many more ambitious videos and soaring budgets, never been so excited about the launch of this single. “The Inevitable Relapse” develops a theme raised by violence but want to capture an intimate problem of a person caught in addiction.
