David Mazzarri, gran cantante y compositor venezolano, quien participó en la banda sonora de la película “La Hora Cero” (LHC). En estos tiempos (Mayo 2011) coincide el lanzamiento al mercado del álbum de este artista merideño: “Cortos de Imaginación” y el estreno de dicha película en otros mercados fuera de Venezuela (Centro América y el Caribe, hasta el momento). Entonces, Diego Velasco (director del film) y su equipo decidieron realizar este video para promocionar el trabajo de todos nosotros en los nuevos territorios.
La canción describe esencialmente al personaje principal: La Parca (Zapata 666). Creo que es un excelente resumen de las emociones que se viven en LHC. “Sí, Soy Yo” es el título de este tema, y me atrevería a decir que es la obra más rockera que David tiene en este disco: una lírica que deambula entre el amor y el miedo, cargado con la energía de guitarras eléctricas y con “coros explosivos”.
David y Diego me dieron la oportunidad de conceptualizar dicho video. Aunque no tuvimos presupuesto, no le pusimos frenos al proceso creativo. El objetivo siempre fue mantener un alto nivel de producción. Gracias al apoyo de Venezolanos en Hollywood pudimos alcanzar esa meta ya que muchos de sus miembros colaboraron con empeño incondicional. Del mismo modo, otros amigos de la misma red de venezolanos involucraron a otros profesionales que igualmente fue incalculable su intervención. A todos ellos: GRACIAS!
Es evidente que el concepto del video gira alrededor de la película: La Parca, prominencia de los rojos y los azules, la violencia, la TV. Tratamos de estructurarlo en 3 momentos principales: 1- David lo presentamos dentro de los televisores que ven los personajes de La Hora Cero. 2- Entramos al TV donde vemos a David con su banda entre los rojos y los azules. 3- Explosión como transición a la luz blanca y fin del video. Todo esto queriendo hilar los valores del encuadre similares a los que se hicieron originalmente en LHC. Además quise evocar (por decirlo de algún modo) a las agujas del reloj mostrando a los músicos girar sobre un “Lazy Susan” (o plataforma giratoria).

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:
David Mazzarri, great Venezuelan singer and composer, who participated in the soundtrack of the film “La Hora Cero” -The Zero Hour- (LHC). At this time (May 2011) the market launch of this artist from Merida coincides: “Cortos de Imaginación” and the premiere of said film in other markets outside of Venezuela (Central America and the Caribbean, so far). So, Diego Velasco (director of the film) and his team decided to make this video to promote the work of all of us in the new territories.
The song essentially describes the main character: La Parca -The Grim Reaper- (Zapata 666). I think it is an excellent summary of the emotions experienced at LHC. “Yes, Soy Yo” is the title of this song, and I would dare to say that it is the most rocking work that David has on this album: a lyric that wanders between love and fear, loaded with the energy of electric guitars and with “explosive choruses”.
David and Diego gave me the opportunity to conceptualize said video. Although we didn’t have a budget, we didn’t put any brakes on the creative process. The goal was always to maintain a high level of production. Thanks to the support of Venezuelans in Hollywood we were able to achieve that goal since many of its members collaborated with unconditional commitment. Likewise, other friends from the same Venezuelan network involved other professionals whose intervention was equally invaluable. To all of them: THANK YOU!
It is evident that the concept of the video revolves around the film: La Parca, prominence of reds and blues, violence, TV. We try to structure it in 3 main moments: 1- David we present within the televisions that the characters of La Hora Cero watch. 2- We enter the TV where we see David with his band between the reds and the blues. 3- Explosion as a transition to white light and end of the video. All this wanting to create frame values similar to those originally made at LHC. I also wanted to evoke (so to speak) the hands of the clock by showing the musicians rotating on a “Lazy Susan” (or rotating platform).
