Otto Scheuren

Otto Scheuren’s career spans Venezuela and the United States. Raised in a family rooted in film and television production (Cinemateriales), he began editing professionally in 1996 at Caracas television channel Bravo (Canal 57), while studying Social Communication at Andrés Bello Catholic University. Over the following years he built a career in Venezuelan and Latin American television, including work with RCTV and the Cisneros Television Group’s Canal Clase (now CMD), before relocating to Los Angeles in the early 2000s to work in post-production.

Since 2004, Otto has built an extensive career as an editor across commercials (with MAkinÉ Studios), music videos, short films, and feature films. Otto’s work in advertising has been recognized with Promax/BDA (now GEMA) and Telly Awards, and he continues to bring a distinctive editorial voice to fiction storytelling. His feature editing credits include La Hora Cero (2010), for which he was sole editor and which won Best Editing at the Mérida Film Festival and Audience Choice at LALIFF; Translucent (2016); and, most recently, The Whistler (2026), his first foray into the horror genre. His short film work includes Ready to Talk (2011), The Astronaut (2018), Her Body (2018) and Hulu: Bite Size Halloween (2021), as well as the short Rosas de Color Rosa (2007), which he also directed and which was selected for LALIFF.
