I wasn’t familiar with these musicians; it was the director, Gabriel Velasco, who brought this project to my editing suite.
While working on this piece, it felt as though a beautiful Puerto Rican family had opened their door and invited me to spend some time with them.
The theme evokes the memory of a father who is no longer with us, yet whose love and legacy live on in anyone willing to listen to the music of the Puerto Rican *cuatro*.
