I really like the music of the Venezuelan band La Vida Boheme and have followed them since their first album. Their visual style back then was also incredibly interesting. So, when the opportunity arose to work on their new single, I naturally said YES!
The production team included familiar faces—Juan Avella directing, Carlos Rafael Suárez as DP—as well as people I knew of but hadn’t worked with before: Rodrigo Michelangeli, Bisual Media, Elias Serpa… and Sirena 69 herself.
When they told me about the story they wanted to tell, I thought it was a lot of narrative for a four-minute song. I imagined it might be a short film that would then lead into the song… but that wasn’t the case. The whole story had to be told within the duration of the track itself.
I hadn’t met Sirena before; she is a beautiful Venezuelan actress and model known for adult (XXX) content. Given the storyline, I assumed it would be a suggestive “dramatization” of porno. But that wasn’t it either; she committed 100% to fully professional erotic scenes. As for the band, Chevy Ayala (the drummer) starred in the story, and I have to say his acting was excellent—expressive looks, a fresh presence, and a genuine actor (something else I hadn’t known).
It was a project executed quite quickly: just a few days of production followed by a rapid editing process. I handled the color grading myself, and the graphics team worked incredibly fast to finish the animations—completing them less than a day after I delivered the final cut.
It was a pleasure to be part of this group. One thing I really liked about the story was the use of the color pink as a leitmotif. It appeared in key elements that showed the evolution of the color’s meaning: shifting from “lovers full of dreams and romantic illusions” to a shade that ultimately represented something “kinky, erotic, and addictive.” It aligns with the phrase “You’re seeing it backwards” from the song. I like that ambiguity and the subtleties, which I feel elevate the piece.

Me gusta mucho la música de la banda venezolana La Vida Boheme y la vengo siguiendo desde su primer disco. Incluso su propuesta visual de aquellos años también fue súper interesante. Cuando me llegó la oportunidad de trabajar en su nuevo sencillo, pues por supuesto que dije YES!
Ya en la producción estaban los amigos conocidos: Juan Avella dirigiendo, Carlos Rafael Suárez como DP… y los que sabían quiénes era pero nunca habíamos coincidido: Rodrigo Michelangeli, Bisual Media, Elias Serpa… y la misma Sirena 69.
Cuando me hablaron de la historia que se quería contar, pensé que era mucho cuento para 4 minutos de canción. Pensé que sería como un cortometraje que después presentaría la canción… pero no. Todo se tenía que contar en la duración de la pista musical.
Yo no conocía a la Sirena, quien es también venezolana y bella actriz/modelo de contenido Adult0 (XXX). Y por la historia pensé que sería una “dramatización” sugerida de lo que se refiere a la producción de cine “no-por”. Y tampoco, ella misma se entregó al 100% en escenas eróticas full profesional. Y de parte de la banda, Chevy Ayala (baterista) es quien protagoniza la historia y quien debo decir, su actuación estuvo excelente: miradas expresivas, fresco, un actor genuino (cosa que también no sabía).
Fue un trabajo que se realizó bastante rápido: pocos días de producción y pasamos a la edición y también fue un proceso veloz… donde yo mismo tuve que aplicar el color y las personas de los gráficos se montaron rapidísimo en acabar las animaciones en menos de un día después de yo haber entregado el corte final.
Un placer de formar parte de este grupo. Hubo algo que me gustó mucho en esta historia era el manejo del color rosa como leitmotif. Se usó en elementos claves que mostraban la evolución del significado de rosa como de “enamorados llenos de ilusiones y sueños” y después ese rosado terminó siendo el “kinky, erótico y adictivo”. En concordancia a la frase “Lo estás viendo al revés” que dice la canción. Me gusta esa ambigüedad y sutilezas que me parecen elevan a la pieza.
